About Your Role:
The Systematic Skill Building Specialist uses evidence-based methods to help participants acquire skills that promote independence and integration into the community. The Specialist develops a Skill Building Plan (SBP) based on the participant’s goals. The specialist aligns paid and natural supports in using the SBP to promote generalization of skills across different environments.
- Location: Home, school, community setting, or outpatient clinic – as outlined in individual consumer treatment plan

Does the following apply to you (education and experience)?
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Education or in another field with 3 years’ experience directly supporting individuals with ASD in the community.
- Complete required training developed or approved by BAS regarding services for people with autism spectrum disorders and other trainings required for the Systematic Skill Building service.
Additional Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for the purpose of transporting consumers (AERI programs only)
- must possess proof of insurance
- must be proficient in use of electronic health record system
- must be able to make sound decisions to support consumers in a calm and timely manner
- must be able to utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities based upon consumer needs, and react quickly to prevent consumer injury or injury to another due to consumer behavior
